About Dr. Selden
Dr. Selden graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, from Tufts University with a double major in Psychology and American Studies. While at Tufts, she received the Leonard Carmichael Society Award for Excellence in Psychology, the Alpha Xi Delta Prize scholarship for Academic Excellence and Public Service, the Susan Broh Award for Academic Achievement, and the Ted Shapiro Award for Best Senior Honors Thesis in American Studies.
Dr. Selden received her Masters degree from Columbia University and her Ph.D. from Fordham University. During her doctoral studies, she served as the Research Coordinator at the Obesity Research Center at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. She has presented her research on eating disorders at national conferences and been published in peer-reviewed psychological journals.
Dr. Selden currently works as a licensed psychologist in private practice in CT and NYC, where she provides individual therapy to adults and adolescents. She is extensively trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic/relational therapy, and accelerated resolution therapy (ART). Dr. Selden is a frequent presenter on topics related to mental health and therapeutic treatment.
